Victoria University organises first High Schools Sports Competition

Victoria University organised the first ever High Schools Sports Competition. The event took place at Kampala International School on Saturday 19th March 2016.

The Guest of Honor was Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr. Stephen Robert Isabalija and the Event Sponsor was Riham Soda-Harris International

Several sporting activities were conducted and they included Football, Basket Ball among other games. The schools that participated included Mount St. Marys Namagunga, Turkish Light Academy, Naalya SSS, Ntinda View College, St. Maria Goreti High School, St. Michael Sonde, East High Ntinda, Entebbe Sec School among others.

MT. ST. MARYS NAMAGUNGA was the overall winner of the event that was driven on the Theme “Discover your talent”.

Mount Saint Mary’s College Namagunga won 3 Trophies in Football, Volley Ball & Basket Ball. Top Scorer in Football Ladies was Amanda Tusiime & Top Scorer Basket Ball also came from Namagunga. Mount Saint Mary’s College Namagunga who took 3 Trophies, the Overall Trophy & a Bull.

COMPETITION OBJECTIVES:
1. To identify and support talent from students;
2. To promote a health living amongst students through sports;
3. Develop friendship and cooperation between the participating Schools;
4. Develop good sportsmanship and behaviors amongst the players in schools;
5. Interact and share experiences among students;
6. To provide professional and career guidance to participating students.
