Uganda MP threaten to strike

Ugandan MPs have threatened not to pass national budget if President doesn’t assent to their tax exemption bill. Addressing a news conference in Parliament, Mr Peter Ogwang (Youth Eastern) and Mr Henry Musasizi (Ndorwa East) warned civil servants who condemned their tax exemption deal. Henry Musasizi said: “We cannot pass the budget until we are sure that our amendment to Income Tax Bill has been concluded. In case the President does not sign the Bill, it will still come back to the same people in Parliament. These are hard facts. We will still pass it without fear or favour.”
