Victoria University Kampala launches Alumni Association

Victoria University last Saturday launched the Alumni Association at an event that was organized at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Speaking at the event, the university chancellor said that Victoria University must distinguish itself from the average universities in Uganda by way of excellence.
The chancellor argued that the University can teach what it is supposed to teach but only the students can set the bar high by performing well even at their places of employment.
Students can make the university or break it, he said in his speech at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Saturday.
“And with the launch of the alumni association, you will be able to interact and be able to keep in touch with the university. The more you keep in touch with the University the more you will make the University famous because of what you are doing outside the university,”
“In your University years, we gave to you and therefore you must also give back to the University and there are very many ways you can give back to the university.
To the promoter, I want to thank you for this initiative, for this very thought of creating this association which forever bring ex-students together and keep the University alive,”
Rajiv Ruparelia, the promoter of the University, said the alumni association ‘will help us to get feedback how our education has helped you to enjoy what you are doing today,’ “It will also help us to get feedback on how we can improve on how relationship,” he said.
At the same event, the University swore in a new student leaders led by the new president Maria Peggy Nabunya. The students also enjoyed a sumptuous dinner as the event also was the University’s end of year party.
