The Uganda  Breweries  and  Uganda Premier League  have  signed a three years  partnership  deal  to promote Ugandan football. The   beer giant company through its Pilsner lager brand and the football authorities  have signed a four hundred and fifty million shillings (shs450m) sponsorship deal to boost the sport.  The sponsorship  deal is to  reward every month  coach of  the  month,  player of the month and man of the match.

The partnership deal  is to recognize and award the Pilsner  Man of the match with a cash token of  one hundred thousand shillings (shs100,000/=) and  Pilsner Player of Month with a  cash token of one hundred thousand shillings (shs100,000/=) while Pilsner Coach of the month will pocket  one million shillings (shs1,000,000/=) after  every league game.

Speaking at the launch of the partnership on Tuesday at Luzira, Uganda Breweries Head of Beer Estella Muzito said the sponsorship is one of the ways that Pilsner Lager, the King’s Beer is engaging football fans with a new and exciting experience in line with its own revitalized look and feel.

Uganda Premier League Chairman Arinaitwe Rugyengo welcomed the sponsorship as  a big boost of encouraging  and rewarding  excellence in the football fraternity.  He added that broadcasting of league matches has improved with attractiveness  to  the league on addition to the  Star Times partnership.

FUFA Deputy CEO Roger Byamukama thanked the Uganda Breweries for the continued support  of the game.

Meanwhile Viper SC Head Coach Javier Martinez Espinosa is the first super coach to receive the one million shillings(shs1,000,000/=) cash token and  Kirinya SC Striker Joel Madodo is the first super striker to  received one hundred thousand shillings cash token.
