The community of Banyakitara leaving and working in greater Kampala over the weekend held their first ever annual Cultural gala were guests were treated to lots of eats, drinks and entertainment.

The gala dubbed ‘’Celebrating our Culture and Art’’brought together hundreds of youth drawn from communities of Bakiga, Batooro, Banyoro and Banyankole with of view to enable young people understand and appreciate their diverse Cultural heritage according to Gil Martin Galiwango the Public relations officer and Co –founder of the project.
Galiwango told Xpress Times on the sidelines of the colorful event that attracted Members of parliament, Cultural leaders, University students, researchers and Musicians among others from the greater Western region that they wanted to bring together these people with a view that they can share their rich cultural issues.
‘’We wanted to bring these youth together so that they can learn how to appreciate their rich cultures by wasy of sharing food, drinks dances and Music as a deliberate strategy to preserve these cultures’’ noted Galiwango.
He urged government not to just promote tourism alone to the International community but package tourism with Culture for more benefits to the people of Uganda.
