On Saturday all roads led to St.Lawrence college Horizon campus along Kampala _Masaka highway were the best UACE student 2018 drove off in a brand new Toyota Corona for excelling in her education.
The State minister for tourism Godfrey Kiwanda handed over the car keys to Anisha Ayebare who scooped 20 points to overcome hundreds of her colleagues from across the six sister different campuses.
Kiwanda said government appreciates such gesture as it builds morale among the student candidates to read harder however said the move should be an eye opener to all students that they must work hard to achieve their dream.
The minister lauded the schools leadership for staking up such prizes and most so congratulated Ayebare for her achievement saying she must remain focused as she moves to join University education.
“The government appreciates the initiative that was set by Prof. Lawrence Mukiibi for starting up these chain of schools saying much as he died two years ago, his children have kept his dream of giving the girl child an opportunity to study alive and shining” noted the minister who has become controversial with his miss curvy beauty contest that still rocks the country.
The St.Lawrence schools and colleges board vice chairperson Sarah Mubuuke said they will continue with their culture of awarding the best performing students at UACE as a deliberate strategy of encouraging many students to work hard.
Mubuuke said the schools recently celebrated 25 years of providing quality education to the future generation population saying they would keep up those standards to the maximum.
