Visualize organized a weekend film training that took place at Kaazi camping site, Busaabala Kampala last weekend. The training was for 4 days which started on 28th June to 1stJuly. It involved variety of participants ranging from organizations, students to individuals.
Some of the organizations included Rhythm of life, Escape adventure Africa, Global platform-Namutumba, Global platform-Kapchorwa and Restless development. The training majorly based on training members on camera work, directing, public speaking and team work.
The activities in the four days camp included, pre-production where participants were taken through concept development and visual storytelling, production where participants were taught camera skills how to shoot, direct and produce a movie, post production where participants were taught how to edit film. The participants were later tasked to come up with short movies in groups well edited
Other activities carried out at the camp include adventure which involved jungle hick and challenge valley where participants were challenged to move in the jungle with a blind fold passing through different stages.
According to one of the participants, the camp was well organized and fruitful to participants.
‘‘The camp was good and educative, we were taken through different stages of production and as I talk now I can shoot, edit and produce a short film.’’ Said Ssemambo Bens, one of the participants of the weekend film training.
The training majorly was to prepare and encourage members on joining and being part of visualize activities especially the upcoming visualize boot camp season five.
