Uganda Police Intercepts Armed Robbery Mission in Bweyogerere; Arrests two Suspects

The robbers had planned to rob from a yet to be identified place in Njeru. The four were travelling on two motor cycles and on reaching Total gas station at Bweyogerere, police intercepted and started shooting at them.

The Police on the 14/8/2019 at around 2200hrs mounted an operation team of KMP Crime Intelligence mounted in areas of Bweyogerere where a group of four robbers armed with an AK 47 rifle were intercepted. In the process, two robbers were arrested and an Ak 47 rifle recovered with 11 rounds of live ammunition while two escaped with injuries.

Those arrested are; Mugerwa Moses and Sekyanda Kinene Drake. One of the motorcycle used by the robbers Reg. No. UET 487F TVS star red in colour was recovered and now parked at Bweyogerere police station. Other information reveals that of the two who escaped, one had a pistol.

The suspects are detained at CPS Kampala pending interrogation.
