Not to lose his shillings 1.4 billion, Meera investments chairman Sudhir Ruparelia has resorted to lawmakers. And, Police in Kampala is investigating a case in which a UK based consultancy firm FBW defrauded Meera Investments a huge sum of money amounting to 2.5 billion Uganda shillings.
The saddening news is that FBW was contracted by Meera Investments to give consultancy in the construction of Speke Apartments Wampeewo and the extension of Kabira Country Club.
Sources reliable and privy to this website intimate that Meera Investments approached FBW in 2012 and the two signed a contract to construct the Speke Apartments Wampeewo and the extension of Kabira Country Club.
The details further reveal that Meera gave FBW an upfront payment of 1 Billion Uganda Shillings for the construction of Speke Apartments and 1.4 Billion Uganda Shillings for the construction that was aimed at extending Kabira Country Club.
Information however is that the Kabira Country Club extension has not been kicking off simply because of FBW’s fraud. Meera investments has for long asked for architectural work from FBW so that work could kick off but they have always turned a deaf ear.
Meera has apparently recorded a case and filed at Katwe police station under reference number GEF:131/2019 FBW is a UK design, architecture, and engineering-led, multi-disciplinary consultancy firm with operations in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.
