The public figures-Minister Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi and Patrick Ssenyonjo aka Fresh Kid launched the fight street kids off Kampala roads mid this week at Kampala Parents School where the kid star goes for his elementary education.
Months ago the new rapper on the block-Fresh kid, cried out to the public to stand with him after Minister of Youth and Children Nakiwala Kiyingi said that the 7-year old singer should be focusing on his education instead of making a career out of music.
Fresh Kid became an online sensation after releasing songs like Banteeka which are popular even among adults. He has done interviews with all the major television stations in Uganda and has secured a massive following on social media.
Nakiwala in one of her pressers said that it had come to her notice that Fresh Kid, while still a minor (less than 18 years old), had become a professional musician who is always performing for money at different events around Kampala, often late into the night.
She castigated his managers and promoters saying that it was wrong because the 7-year-old should be primarily concentrating on his studies at school, as well as spending much of his time under the guidance and control of his parents at home, rather than being out performing during night events.
The Honorable Minister also warned event organizers, as well as the operators and owners of the venues where the events where Fresh Kid was performing not to let Fresh Kid perform at their events/venues again, or else she would swing into action and bring them to face the law.
Fresh Kid replied to the minister in equal measure when he took to social media saying that the minister wanted to take him back to the village.

Kampala Parents scholarship;
Just months after getting the Kampala Parents sponsorship for his education by Ruparelia Foundation boss, Rajiv Ruparelia last April, Fresh kid has started winning people’s hearts and with so many good things have become his fixture.
Rajiv through his Ruparelia Foundation offered the young artist a full study scholarship up-to primary seven and surely the artist has changed life.
A lot of hullabaloo, media attention and controversies have before surrounded Fresh Kid’s music career for the wrong reason. Actually Fresh Kid is a perfect role model for many his contemporaries.
As such, many kids his age want to grow up looking up to him. For that reason, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Ms Florence Nakiwala and Fresh Kid have this October joined hands to fight the vice of street kids in Kampala.
The seven (7) year old Fresh Kid will head the campaign launched at Kampala Parents School. The campaign as championed by the Young music star will also be driven by the head girl Kampala Parents.
According to the Minister-Nakiwala, the campaign will help hundreds of children to get off the streets of Kampala and taken to rehabilitation homes that are spread around the country.
Ruparelia foundation boss Rajiv Ruparelia preached to Kampala parents children to be responsible and exemplary in whatever they do because they are the tomorrow leaders.
“Be responsible, be examples you will be future leaders of this country. What you are doing here is setting an example for millions of people around the world. Come to Kampala parents and the rest will be history in future because you will be doing a great job for the rest of the world when you get the best education here,” said Rajiv.
